Relationship marketing via LinkedIn groups:Tip 5 start your own discussion

This is my fifth and last tip about how to use LinkedIn groups to create useful new business relationships.

Tip 5 start your own discussion

Starting your own discussion is a powerful tool that needs a smart strategy. Therefore, you need to wait until you have connection with the group members. Start reacting on other discussions to create a connection with the group members. First of all, read the contribution of others and try to understand their arguments, objections and needs for information; what is important for them? Secondly, analyze your previous discussion by asking yourself: why did others reacted on this discussion? Use these insights to get as much as valuable response on your own discussion. When you succeed LinkedIn will notice you as ‘influential’, which puts you in a good position.

Relationship marketing via LinkedIn groups: Tip 4 Start your own group

This is the fourth tip about how to use LinkedIn groups to create useful new business relationships.

LinkedIn counts more than 50.000 Dutch LinkedIn groups, so the offer is enormous. If you can’t find a group that is consistent with your target or interests, you may consider to start a group yourself. This means that you become an Owner, which offers you a considerable number of advantages, such as getting in touch with new contacts.

By creating an own group
you also get obligations, as Owner you are responsible for the management of the group. Hereby is your primary task to make and keep the group interesting for others. This means that you regularly have to share interesting information or start a discussion in your group.

Relationship marketing via LinkedIn groups: Tip 3 Follow-up

This is the third tip about how to use LinkedIn groups to create useful new business relationships.

Tip 3 Follow-up
One of the largest disadvantage of LinkedIn is that you don’t automatically stay up-to-date. Therefore, it is important to visit the groups in a proactive manner and stay up-to-date of new discussions and reactions. You also can consider to appreciate a discussion by clicking on the ‘like’ button. Furthermore, you can give your discussion attention through your status update.

Relationship marketing via LinkedIn groups: Tip 2 Focus on the most popular discussions

This is the second tip about how to use LinkedIn groups to create useful new business relationships.

Tip 2 Focus on the most popular discussions
The most popular discussions are getting the most attention. Thus, these are the subjects you need to follow and add useful contributions to. For example, ask an extra question, add new arguments or refer to useful sources. The most popular discussions are placed at the top of the group page, you can’t miss them.

Relation marketing via LinkedIn groups: Tip 1

Via LinkedIn groups you are able to create new business relationships in an easy, smart and quick manner. In the upcoming 5 hours I will give you tips how you easily can use LinkedIn groups to create useful new business relationships.

Tip 1 Choose only the best LinkedIn groups
First of all, you need to evaluate your groups and focus yourself on the top 3 to 5 where your audience is best represented. You can consider criteria such as subject or region. Furthermore, it isn’t useful to join very large groups. Instead of these large groups you better select a group with a couple of hundred members. In this way you are more noticeable and you don’t fade out among the mass of a large group with thousands of members. Thus, aim your target only on a couple groups and act proactive: do not wait for the weekly update, but choose your own moment to add information that is useful for the members in that group.

The best overall Twitter (and more) app

It has been circulating for weeks now that Twitter would buy Tweetdeck, a third-party app. This rumor is now official: Twitter has bought TweetDeck for 40 million dollars. Twitter bought this app, because it is simply the best app for combining one's social media accounts.

What is Tweetdeck?
TweetDeck is simple: it is a personal real-time browser, connecting you with your contacts across Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, Foursquare, Google Buzz and more. What do I mean with real-time browser? It means that it reloads itself, so the user of TweetDeck does not have to reload the program, browser or app to see if there are new messages. You can use Tweetdeck on different programs, computers or devices.

Why do I use TweetDeck?

I mainly use it because of its overview. I simply can see all my social media accounts at once, so I do not have to go over 3 or 4 different sites. What I also admire about the app, is the multiple login. I have three Twitter accounts; one personal, one for my business and one for my education. With Tweetdeck I never have to login multiple times. This also applies for my Facebook accounts. Another great feature of the TweetDeck app is posting a message. You can easily choose from all your registered accounts to post your message to the right audience.
